SIRIVANNAVARI Unveils Official Ceremonial Uniforms for Thailand’s National Team for the 20th Asian Games, Bringing Thai Identity to the Asian Stage Through Contemporary Design

SIRIVANNAVARI proudly unveils its designs for the official ceremonial uniforms of Thailand’s national athletes, to be worn at the Opening Ceremony of the 20th Asian Games, Asian Games 2026, scheduled to take place in Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, 2026.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, Creative Director of SIRIVANNAVARI, has graciously taken on this significant role at the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, designing the ceremonial uniforms for Thailand’s national team. Guided by a vision to bring the capabilities of a Thai luxury fashion house to the international stage, the collection celebrates Thai identity and indigenous textile wisdom through contemporary fashion design imbued with meaning and purpose. The uniforms are intended to inspire a profound sense of national pride among the more than 900 male and female athletes and team members who will represent Thailand at Asia’s premier sporting event.

The official unveiling took place at the Ballroom of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit, Bangkok, on August 21, 2026, through a campaign featuring video and photographs under the concept “The Art of Unity.” The campaign captures the spirit of solidarity through four members of Thailand’s national team: Kunlavut Vitidsarn, Thailand’s national badminton player;  Banlung Tubtimdang, Thailand’s national taekwondo athlete; Pimpichaya Kokram, Thailand’s national women’s volleyball player; and Suthasini Sawettabut, Thailand’s national table tennis player. Joining them was Panipak Wongpattanakit, the legendary former Thai taekwondo athlete whose remarkable achievements have become part of Thailand’s sporting history. Together, the athletes embody the determination, pride and unity of the Thai people, expressed through SIRIVANNAVARI’s contemporary ceremonial designs.

The campaign also pays tribute to the dedicated artisans of Donkoi Model Village, whose indigo-dyed handwoven cotton textiles embody generations of craftsmanship and local wisdom. Their stories of dedication, perseverance and pride are woven into the narrative of the collection, symbolising how individual strength and commitment ultimately come together as one to support Thailand’s national athletes on the Asian stage.

These materials reflect the value of Thai craftsmanship, created through dedication, precision and perseverance—qualities that closely mirror the journey of athletes, who must undergo continuous training, discipline and determination before reaching the Asian stage.

The SIRIVANNAVARI ceremonial uniforms have been created under the concept “The Art of Unity,” representing the collective spirit of the Thai people as they come together to support and cheer for the national team at the Asian Games.

At the heart of the designs is the integration of SIRIVANNAVARI’s distinctive silhouettes with naturally indigo-dyed, handwoven cotton from the “Donkoi Model,” a sustainable village development initiative in Sakon Nakhon Province, alongside cotton textiles produced under the SUPPORT Foundation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The textiles embody generations of local wisdom, developed through skill, patience and meticulous craftsmanship at every stage—from natural indigo dyeing to hand weaving. This process reflects the journey of athletes themselves, whose success depends on discipline, perseverance and countless hours of dedicated training. Each piece of Donkoi Model textile possesses its own distinctive pattern and tonal variation, shaped by the individual techniques of its artisan. No two pieces are exactly alike, highlighting the unique character and authenticity of Thai craftsmanship. Yet, when brought together as ceremonial uniforms for the entire national team, these individual elements form a harmonious expression of unity.

The ceremonial uniforms have been designed for both male and female athletes and comprise four key pieces: 

The Suit Jacket is tailored from handwoven cotton and presented in SIRIVANNAVARI’s distinctive silhouette. The three-pocket jacket features carefully considered details that convey the identity of Thailand’s national team, complemented by buttons embossed with the SIRIVANNAVARI logo. 

The White Shirt features an elongated pointed collar and a specially embroidered chest panel, incorporating design elements that beautifully express the cultural connection between Thailand and Japan. 

The Trousers are tailored from premium suiting fabric in a colour coordinated with the jacket. Side openings at the hem, an adjustable waist fastening and the brand’s signature peacock emblem add both functionality and distinctive SIRIVANNAVARI detailing. The design demonstrates how Thai textiles and craftsmanship can be seamlessly interpreted through an international fashion vocabulary. 

Completing the ensemble is the Necktie, featuring the signature “Diamond Knot”—a distinctive SIRIVANNAVARI styling element that adds a refined finishing touch to the complete look.

The SIRIVANNAVARI ceremonial uniforms for the Asian Games 2026 represent a powerful symbol of national pride expressed through fashion. The designs place equal importance on aesthetic refinement, material selection and the comfort and mobility required by athletes, while simultaneously celebrating Thailand’s cultural heritage, craftsmanship and indigenous textile wisdom through a contemporary design perspective.
